Save our Cottages Series 9 opens at Villa Gallace, 109 Gulf Blvd., Indian Rocks Beach, Fl 33785, tel.727.596.0200 on Friday, February 4th at 5.30 p.m. We are very excited about this show.  Newly discovered areas have been getting our attention. The light here at Indian Rocks Beach this past month has been absolutely spectacular and like  Van Gogh, Monet and Sorolla we have braved the high winds and sunshine and the odd shower. This annual art auction was attended by more than 750 guests.  Clearwater, Tampa, St. Petersburg and Indian Rocks Beach residents donned their evening attire and rushed to The Frank & Brenda Crum Building.   Delicious food from local restaurants and a smooth jazz band entertained. The art auction was a huge success.  The proceeds benefit Clearwater Free Clinic, which provides much needed health care for those in need. Helen Tilston donated "Sunny Day at Indian Rocks Beach" Mary Rose Holmes donated "Come watch the sunset with me" 

Early morning skies of soft pinks, peaches and gentleness greet us each day here at Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.  As the day awakens and the sun gradually heats up, the sky changes to vivid blue from turquoise to royal and never two days being the same.  Evening sunsets having been remarkable with oranges and bold streaks of colour resembling the rainbow.  The afterglow following sunset is the most spectacular time. The Plein Aire Cottage Artists paint in all types of weather and some days can be challenging and always, always we are rewarded and pleased that we braved the elements.  This is a particularly busy time for us as we try to get as many scenes on canvas in anticipation of "Plein Aire Cottage Artists Series 9 Art Show". Paintings included in the exhibition will feature local paintings and paintings from our world travels.   For 2011 Villa Gallace have invited us to exhibit in their restaurant which has charm and decor in the style visitors expect when vacatio
